   I think your final statement hits the nail on the head: we _want_ to be excited. We _want_ to get hype for this stuff, and see our faith rewarded. But we just haven't _been_ excited by previous announcements like this one which sound good on paper but fall flat in practice. We've just been burned before.

   Early d1 was a time for amazing leveling it forced people into having to do what’s supposed to be endgame things such as VOG In order to level up their player. I was a big fan of this leveling system as it made you desire to be able to beat the raid with a plethora of other players who desired to beat the raid just as much as the next.

    I'm sorry but destiny is boring and unfulfilling, i've clung on for the sake of nostalgia and to find out where the story lead us. But my many hours spent playing feel wasted repeating the same cycle every content release. I've stopped playing for the last 2/3 weeks now and its the best decision i've made regarding gaming, destiny almost made me quit gaming altogether. Seeing people forget their gripes of the past every time a droplet of future content is given them is scary, theres a difference between being excited for content and being addicted to a play loop, a lot of players are simply addicted to the destiny loop which explains why many get angry when the game doesn't satisfy them...but play it anyway.

    This may be a bad take, but I'm fine with Stasis being better than our light powers. Maybe not to the extent that it is right now, but as long as it's stronger, then I'm fine with it. Iirc, Darkness is meant to be stronger than light lore-wise, but all that power generally corrupts a Guardian. Look at the Dark Future that Elsie had to endure. I kinda hope that in the future we can decide on a faction like Alliance v. Horde in WoW. Maybe with like 2 different campaigns or something. I doubt that'd ever happen though because it probably wouldn't fit the current gameplay loop of Destiny 2, but I'll keep dreaming.

    They sunset all of my favorite guns; komodo, trophy hunter (I spent 50,000 fractaline for mine), wizened rebuke, militia's birthright, line in the sand, duke mk.44, but then everybody gets to keep their felwinter's lie forever? I call BS! At least keep sunsetting pursuit weapons. I'm willing to sacrifice my komodo and salvager's salvo to see felwinter's die in the trash fire where it belongs.

    genuiely excited for what's to come. worried about armor transmog though. I think you covered my main concerns that they're going to make it feel like we have to buy silver. but time will tell on that I guess. I hope they do it right though, because we all know the most important thing in any MMO is the fashion.

    Nope! Specially after we deleted a considerable (if not all) amount of godrolls because of the sunset bs! All I see is a bunch of shallow promises from a scared studio that decided to drop a wall post exactly 1h after another major looter shooter entered the market. Been there, done that. Nope!

    If they wanna give crucible some love they really need to give a simple mode like clash a main playlist. Forcing zone control as a main gametype is just a bad idea. Switch up the gametypes in Iron Banner to. Most of the changes actualy sound good for the first time in years. First time since shadowkeep.

    "RPG power pursuit" is just not very easy to apply to destiny I think. It fits into more of an action rpg style and upping the level requirements literally just add grind for the sake of grind

    I am super hopeful, but like you, @Datto, I'm cautiously optimistic as well. And, unlike you, I am firmly in the "Stasis ruined crucible" camp. Well, really, freezing /slowing players and too much class ability nonsense ruined it, but I'm excited to hear "more gunplay". Anyway, fingers crossed.

    The reason leveling is a problem is because in Destiny is one of the only games out there that make the game harder as you level up to become more powerful, not easier.

    8:35 so basically, their gonna make vault easier? I went back and played og vault not even a year ago and that shit kicked my teams ass when we were all 400 light. Destiny 2 has way more abilitys that make livabilty easier. their gonna have to make hobogoblins one shot or something or else we just aint gonna die in there

    level/number based progression in FPS rarely works out well for final gameplay. in RPG type games it's handy for pushing people into using new items but they are removing sunsetting. . . sooooooooo, yeah. in FPS it turns formerly powerful headshots into grazing blows, makes potent defences suddely worthless and allows over-egared players to face-roll what's supposed to be multi-phase and challenging encounters by simply magnifying a numerical advantage via % based damage buffs/weakening abilities turning (sometimes annoyingly slow invunerability phase fight) bosses into mere roadbumps you have to equip a specific team-comp for while the majority have to struggle through as the devs-intended (or not get in there at all due to zero-matchmaking).

    part of the problem with the leveling system is that people are used to the traditional rpg leveling system, which unlocked better gear available to get the higher you got/ more advanced activities, but with destiny you can choose what gear you wanna use when you reach the cap. that introduces variety in loadouts at the cost of the leveling process feeling useless.
