even thoguh the fallen guillotine looks weak it was nerfed by 30 percent so before they nerfed it this sword would deal similar damage to the lament

what about sustained damage? guillotine doesnt have to wait for its charge up like lament does. and against actual bosses and not weaker yellowbars, they survive MUCH longer.

Is this before or after the nerf?? I say before the guillotine would have put out higher numbers. They just didn't want a legendary to shine brighter than an exotic. That's just my thoughts.

I use guillotine for add control and lament for heavy damage.

I can do all these things with my arms..

To anyone like me who is just getting into the game and want to farm Vex finishers pretty quickly, just hop into Garden of Salvation. The literal first thing you run into is a massive crowd of Vex, with 3 big yellow bar minotaurs after the crowd of Goblins and Harpies. Also don't be like me, and remember to take off any mods on your gear that require an amount of your super to do finishers. You can't do them otherwise. Tbh, there's probably a better way to farm the vex finishers, but I found it to be pretty quick just restarting the raid every time I cleared the crowd of baddies in the start.

Lament takes up an exotic slot yes that´s true, but i and mayn others used guillotine so much that using another good sword feels great :D

Lament might do a tiny bit more damage, but it's a waste of an exotic slot.

My guillotine does 22,000 damage light attack with whirlwind

But running guillotine let’s me run risk runner

It's really personal preference. I don't and won't use Lament. Doesn't create orbs, is an Exotic and it's a wasted slot and FG takes 2 or 3 more strikes to do what Lament does. I would rather use Witherhoard, Xeno or Anarchy rather than use Lament. Horse for the course. Also standing under bosses is not very clever at all. Better to hit them from distance. If you use witherhoards blight + FG it is better DPS than Lament on it's own. I will stick with this.

also exotic v legendary i think Guillotine held up(for a purple) but lament is better for sure

Lament is great! But guillotine is better exotic slot. Is the main and only reason. You can still have a high dps sword and still use a different exotic.

Wish you went over dps considering lament is better for burst, but I keep hearing people say that guilloteene is better for dps over time. Also new information: laments highest dps over time is achieved by doing 4 light swings, then heavy, then 5 normal swings, then repeating. Not sure if that is with lucent blade or not. Good video though! Really nice to see solid numbers

I prefer the Temptation's Hook since it's the bolt caster reskinned and it does damage from a distance.

To be fair wouldn’t guillotine be better sustained damage on something like riven? Lament is better on champs and stuff that it can basically “one phase” but guillotine hits harder sustained no? Most things don’t have millions of health so lament is better but I’m just saying guillotine still has some purpose.

See the sad thing is, is that regardless of if you prefer fallen guillotine over lament or not, lament will always be the better sword, simply because exotics don't get sunset, lament will always be a deadly blade, andd will eventually have a catalyst of some sort, whereas fallen guillotine will eventually hit it's power cap and become useless in areas it once thrived.

Try Lament and FG vs. Riven via Cheese. Due to charging time from Lament and Whirlwind x5 staying up FG does a better job. Lament is great against champions and enemies in that health region.

Love both for the reasons stated ... Falling Guillotine when I want a different exotic loaded. Lament is my punisher when I know the boss at the end deserves it.

I can't believe people were dumb enough to even think this, rather I think after -24% damage nerf guillotine got with surrounded spec on bequest it does more damage

The lament absolutely slaps charge it up in the air hit 3 lights and then end with a heavy me and two of my mates broke the dungeon because we broke the boss in the first stage and skipped the actual boss fight 🤣

After doong minimal research i thought Lament needed two seconds to get going, plus kill adds to increase Wail to nine stacks. What type of research was i getting? Doesn’t matter what kind, cause until i find friends for actual difficult content im content with Temptation’s hook ha ha sword go gun.

For people who are curious, pre nerf falling guillotine would do roughly around 171K total dps and the lament does 170k, bungie nerfed it so people would use lament pretty sure lol

Try using the lament on a a group of adds good luck on focusing on the target you are focusing on Because you be aiming on other target while swain.

I hit 120k damage on a heavy attack. Lament = Range, multiple kills/hits on light attack, healing on hits, ammo back on kills, best dps weapon to have ever been in a Destiny game = amazing

Ofc the exotic is going to be stronger. That just how it should be. But.. lament takes up my exotic slot and therefore means I can't use the fighting lion with it so its worse >:c Fighting Loin best girl!!!!

The fact the a legendary can keep up means it not worth the exotic slot. Sorry, guillotine it is. Less work to activate it, better hit box and orbs, and more ammo capacity.

Verdict: Lament. 3 Revved strikes + 1 Revved Heavy strike. Falling Guillotine is better for some situations.

Lament is cooler and better but not better enough to make me take it over the guillotine. But it’s more fun so I use it.

Fallout do you know if hitting 4 light revs and then a heavy is better dps than just 3 light revs before heavy? I know the sword charge meter has higher capability than banshees wail and it’s even possible to hit 5 lights and a heavy, but I’m not sure if that time is better spent on lights rather than charging to the next heavy

With the numbers as close as they are I have trouble justifying using my exotic slot on Lament.

Long story short. Lament for burst dps, guillotine for sustained dps. For example, its much better on all last wish bosses over Lament.
