Destiny's raids always sound like they're made up by 5 year olds. You have to take the boss out in 5 minutes, but there's one player who has to run around the tree 3 times and on the 3rd lap they need to jump and say "pop goes the weasel!", only then will another player be able to pick up the rock and all other players need to collect the jacks underneath the rock which will begin the damage phase. After the damage phase, everyone needs to run under the jungle gym to avoid the wipe. Rinse and repeat 10 times

I watched hours of videos to try and understand the entire raid; I watched this once, and it all just cleared up, everything just made sense

I watched this and it still took me 5 hours to complete it.

I completed this raid 3 times now. I have only been scanner on last fight, and then the cheese for that kind of made that role useless. I still feel completely at a loss on all the roles and swapping around the roles, but somehow the people that do those roles now regularly seem to help carry the poor sods who do not understand these roles just fine. I guess I just do not feel like I am really raiding is all, just killing stuff and watching the show for the most part.

This is way too much bullshit for a fucking Raid, what happened to kill sword bearer, shoot raid boss, he kneels, sword hit, shoot him again, sword swipe... wash rinse and repeat.....

Same fucking enemies from D1, fallen, vex, cabal, hive, taken... from the beginning making Destiny 2 was completely unnecessary

Not a huge fan of raids anymore. While a lot of people like to say that people enjoy VoG or Crota more then recent raids only due to nostalgia, i think its not so. With VoG and Crota, there was usually 1 or 2 main mechanics in an encounter at any given moment. Not only this, but the mechanics were (usually) very intuitive. You used to be able to get an encounter explained to you, and when you got in it would click almost immediately. If it didnt, the raid mechanics really hinged on one or two main people, whereas the rest of the team's job was to destroy adds and keep them safe. Now each encounter requires 3 teams, 6 maps, an education in theoretical physics, 2+ years on hand experiences, 4 doctorates, and telepathy (obvious hyperbole). Its not that I dont want to raid, its just that these raids are more complicated then they are fun or rewarding

Just my personal opinion but the direction which raids (not just in D2 but in most MMO's) are heading is just absurd. Raids used to be about coming in the appropriate gear and knowledge of your class/character. These days it's about memorizing a bunch of crazy steps, splitting your team off in different directions, and hoping every miniscule detailed is pulled off perfectly by all raid members. I don't necessarily feel that raid bosses should just be "tank and spank" or point and shoot but a few mechanics to avoid harm would be plenty to keep these entertaining. It doesn't have to be rocket science to feel worthy of accomplishment.

Found the real way to do raids: Watched this guide like 4 times in a row and absolutely nothing made sense to me. Went into the raid where people taught me a little in there, and then once I *did* the raid, I went back, watched this guide, and now everything makes so much more sense to me. Thanks Rick
