فیلم و پویانماییThe Gentle Principles of Hey Arnold | Video Essay Quality Cultureتاریخ انتشار پیش سالبازدید 102K 1K دانلودIn this video, we discuss why Hey Arnold was such a unique and impactful '90s cartoon, and how it left a lasting impression on its fans.Music composed by the marvelous Jim Lang.نظر prncess azulaپیش 5 روزArnold’s room was my dream room.Samuel Ogonuwe Jr.پیش 6 روزstarted rewatching the series again recently and it really amazed me how many life lessons that went over our heads as kids but really strikes a nerve as an adult. that Christmas episode is the most impactful one and still manages to bring tears in my eyescivildefenseپیش 7 روزI have a serious question for you all. I assume many of you think Hey Arnold was probably one of the best Nickelodeon shows of the 90's if not all time due to the voice acting, animation, story writing/telling, soundtrack, and overall feel of the show. While that's the way I feel about the show, I think there might be 2 more reasons why the show did so well. 1: Nickelodeon was still in it's infancy in the mid 90's so they worried about quality just as much as quantity. 2: This show did so well in the 90's because it was the 90's. Think about it, the Cold War was over and the 9/11 attacks hadn't happened yet so there wasn't a really large fear of global terrorism yet. While the 1990's had its fair share of problems, it was still a relatively peaceful decade compared to the decades that were before and the decades that fallowed it. This may have given us a relatively more innocent childhood in the 90's compared to other decades that may have allowed us to have such a show. What are your thoughts on the subject?Lily Graceپیش 15 روزFun fact: The creator of Hey Arnold is married to Matt Groening's sisterBirdmanDeuce26پیش 19 روزYou encapsulated many of the feelings that I had of this amazing show; Hey Arnold is almost always my go-to example for how a show could let "real" speak for itself.JV aka RedBlaqueGoldenپیش 22 روزNot me out here crying over Hey Arnold. There was no action, no comedy, no violence, no simple destroyable evil. This show bought me through! Born in 1991 :) in the country on a big block of land in a small town. I always longed to freely play with other kids and the freedom of city life that Arnold and his friends had. Not to mention the ceiling in his bedroom omgggg! Haha!Underground Retailپیش ماهLove this show. Back when Nick Toons had culture.Jeanna Padilioniپیش ماهI loved Hey Arnold for the music, the artwork, the lifestyle everything about this show just made me want to go to PS 119 !Tristan Robertsپیش ماهAt 6:29 right now as I'm typing this. I actually... resonate with Torvalt (or however you spell his name...) I wasn't a bad kid, I wasn't a bully and I never went to juvenile hall. But I didn't have great grades because of my learning disability. But when I moved on to college, I got my first, real, earned good grade. I got a B in English composition. I EARNED that B. Yeah, I don't get an A but I was never raised to care about that. I felt like I did ok, but then I got that email from my writing professor. I felt that thing we humans call pride. And just like Hey Arnold, it was imperfect, but still good.TrueEnergizerBunniesپیش ماهI loved the urban setting in this show. It was different and more real and I loved the diversity of characters. This show was an example of doing things right. It was not forced diversity. I think in recent years though there has been a good deal of that. Forced diversity is when you include characters and most of their personality as a character is their race, or gender or whatever. All the other characters point out their race or gender or whatever. It's forced and annoying because it's obvious it's just for publicity and brownie points. It's pandering. Has anyone in this show ever pointed out that Gerald is black? Or was Harold constantly talking about being jewish and never did anything else or have any other likes and personality traits? No! None of these characters had their race or sexual orientation or gender pointed out. They were just people who happened to have these traits. No worse or more special than any of the others and that's how it should be. We are all just people with different traits.EZdelFrescoپیش ماهGreat video. Hey Arnold was THE slice of life cartoon for me. Especially the earlier episodes. Those moments of silence with just jazz music playing was something that I was even able to appreciate and FEEL as a six year old.Bloombaby99پیش ماهWe often start out as an Arnold, Helga, or Olga but we end up as a Pigeon Man, Agatha Caufield, or Bob Pataki.Liamپیش ماهCraig is very active on Instagram! Us to come on at like 5am and I had to be at the bus by 6:50am. I subscribed so I can check out more of these videos. This seems like an awesome channel!Bloombaby99پیش ماهThese 90s shows were the last of their kind. The things they teach kids are so sorely needed nowadays. They didn't just entertain kids but adults, too.Bloombaby99پیش ماهFor me, it was the jazz music. That and it never fails to impress me how nine year old kids know more about romance and life than adults.Erica Reignپیش ماهLove this show and channelJeff Houghپیش ماهLegit loved hey arnold growing up still have many fond memories of the show and the times early in my life it brings back those treasured memories absolutely a brilliant cartoonkira sussaneپیش ماهLoved this series when I was a kid. Free of irony, sacarsm or cynicism is really hard to picture such a wholesome and deep cartoon in these modern times.Cam Art Galleryپیش ماهi still think its funny that Harold was apparently 13 in the 4th grade so he was afraid of the 5th graders who are 3yrs younger than him loldonnellia24پیش ماهGreat video! The video essay is exactly what I needed to hear today. I'm a grown man now, and this brought me to tears. Thank you so much for this.Milton Fluskپیش ماهThank you for this. I thought I was alone after listening to this. Defs gonna watch the seriesIsaac Buckleyپیش ماهProbably what I like most is Arnold himself simply because he’s not like other main cartoon characters. He’s not zany, eccentric, goofy or real energetic. He’s not the strongest, smartest or richest kid but he’s the everyman. He’s quiet but not shy, friendly but not overbearing. And yet he’s still incredibly likable despite him being a down to earth kid (heck, his grandparents and other friends would more likely be the main character in any other show today) He probably has the best moral compass of any kid hero I’ve seen: almost every episode is how Arnold helps someone and he won’t give up. He’s someone i think we all can learn a lesson from: he sees good in everyone, from Helga, to Gerald, to Mr Hyunh, his grandparents, Pigeon Man and even characters like Oskar and the Jolly Olly Man. We could use more Arnold’s in this world honestlyIsaac Buckleyپیش ماهThe endings of “Arnold’s Christmas” and “Pigeon Man” are seriously some of the most beautiful endings of cartoons I’ve seenoooh19پیش ماهfunny how adults expect more from kids yet they can be worse. or older adults expect more from younger adults yet they do the same thing loloooh19پیش ماهthis is why i always loved and still love hey arnold. this ex friend of mine didnt like it but hey she didnt like looking beyond others' surfaces/getting to know ppl. she was very judgmental and close mindedla bruja sofiپیش ماهI was listening to Hey Arnold's soundtrack when your video appeared. You described my feelings about this show perfectly. As an adult, it still has a place in my heart and I still watch from time to time. I absolutely love cartoons because of 90s cartoon shows.Brittany Dپیش 2 ماهI subscribed after watching your video on The Lovely Bones. This is another great video. I was tearing up during most of it.
